Kiwi owned and operated, we specialise exclusively in recruiting professional engineers and technical staff for positions across New Zealand. We work with leading companies, from small businesses to global leaders; from private industry to contractors and consultancies.
We have deveoped a particular expertise in recruiting from overseas and particularly Britain and Ireland. Since August 2005, 45% of our placements have been sourced from overseas and 90% of those candidates are still with the same company. We very much know what process needs to be applied to ensure that the candidate (and family) come here with the right expectations and we know how to ensure that culturally they will fit (and stay) with their first New Zealand employer. All of the "horror stories" about overseas recruitment are a failure in this process!!
We have worked hard to earn a reputation for selecting the right people for the right job and the "right fit". When you receive a CV from one of our consultants you can be assured that it is worth looking at - we are not in the business of wasting your time (or ours) by forwarding you a CV that has little chance of meeting your requirements.

Our Commitment to You
We unreservedly give you the following commitment:-
- To declare any potential conflict of interest.
- To ensure that our terms of business are fully understood by you.
- To respect the confidentiality of any information about you.
- To retain your anonymity until clearance for disclosure has been given.
- To only forward or refer any candidate's details to you once that candidate has been contacted and permission has been received.
- To abide by the provisions of all relevant legislation relating to our industry and equal opportunity and anti-discrimination legislation.
- To maintain regular contact with you during the recruitment process.
- To undertake reference checks on candidates in an objective and professional manner and once mutual interest has been established by both parties.
- NOT to undertake any search activity involving any of your current staff.
Fee Structure
Our standard fee is calculated as 15% (plus GST) of the candidates starting remuneration package.For a permanent position this is calculated on 12 months of this remuneration. For fixed term positions of less than 12 months, this is calulated on the proposed number of months for the placement.
Remuneration package comprises salary, allowances, benefits, bonuses and commissions. Any motor vehicle forming part of the package is valued at $10,000.
Upon completion of offer and acceptance for a position, our professional service fee will be invoiced. Our fee is earned if the candidate is engaged directly or indirectly by the client or any of its affiliates, as a result of our verbal or written introduction. The fee is also applicable in the event the client refers the candidate to another person or body who engages the candidate.
Payment Terms
We invoice our clients on the date the candidate commences their position with our client.
Our normal payment terms are payment in full 7 days from the date of invoice. Invoices paid within the 7 days ensure the 3 month warranty term will apply.
By arrangement, we do offer instalment payment terms whereby we will take our fee in monthly instalments. This has an obvious cash flow advantage to our client as well as eliminating the risk of paying for candidates that do not remain for the full length of their placement..
In either case our preference is that fees are paid by online banking.
Candidate Warranty
If, for any reason other than redundancy or relocation, an appointee to a permanent position ceases employment within 3 months, we undertake to make every effort to provide a suitable replacement, with the Client only meeting the cost of any agreed advertising. This warranty is conditional upon payment of fees being made within seven (7) days of invoicing and is by way of a credit to be offset against future fees and will be calculated in the following manner:
(a) 100% of the fee if the Candidate leaves in the first month;
(b) 75% of the fee if the Candidate leaves in the second month;
(c) 50% of the fee if the Candidate leaves in the third month.
If we agree to an instalment payment plan whereby our fee is paid over 12 monthly instalments then the instalments will cease with the termination of an appointee for any reason other than redundancy or relocation.
Advertising Costs
Display advertising will only be used with the Clients prior approval and then at the Clients cost. Other advertising (and specifically that on the recruitment websites) is done free of charge.
Travel Costs
Any travel costs incurred by or on behalf of a Candidate will be at the Clients cost. This includes any travel by Consultants for out of town interviews. The fact of such travel taking place would be cleared by the Client and all items will be charged at actual cost.
Exclusive Assignments
In the event that Engineering Recruiters are engaged on an exclusive assignment (which would normally include a program of Client Paid Advertising) and we have interviewed/short-listed Candidates, and then the Client withdraws, postpones or cancels the assignment or appoints an internal Candidate, then we reserve the right to charge a 50% fee in recognition of the time and effort applied to such an assignment. This will transpire as a separate agreement.
Acceptance
Your acceptances of referrals from our company constitutes your agreement with our fees, warranty policy and conditions of service.
